Jeff Hingen

Man wearing glasses and a 'ROLL CALL' cap with an airport runway in the background.

Jeff was from the Baltimore/Annapolis, Maryland area until he graduated High School. Just 2 days after graduation in 1992 he enlisted in the US Army and trained to be a mechanic on CH-47D Chinook Helicopters. Concurrently, he enrolled in Aviation Maintenance Technology School at Rice Aviation and earned his license to work on civilian aircraft.  In 1996 Jeff decided to go into commercial aviation where he began with the infamous Valujet Airlines. Throughout the many years to come he had the privilege and excitement of traveling our world by being a flight crew member in the role as mechanic/engineer for the Saudi Arabian Royal Family on their VVIP Boeing aircraft. Another privilege he was fortunate to be a part of after returning from the desert was flying our military men and women to and from Bishkek for deployment.

Jeff moved to DFW in 2009 to work for a major airline but now is am proud to work for the best employer in the world at Southwest Airlines in Quality Assurance. His role is making sure our procedures for aircraft maintenance are correct and they have the safest aircraft in the world.

In his personal life Jeff has been married to his wife Kim (Roll Call Secretary) for 9 happy fun-filled years. They have 5 children between them and the cutest little granddaughter that keeps them on their toes, but they wouldn’t have it any other way.

His other interests are all things mechanical, especially cars and motorcycles. Jeff and Kim love to take off on their Harley for a few days here and there to enjoy the open road and see new places. When he is home he is either working on or showing off his old pickup or VW bus.

Jeff discovered Roll Call a few years ago while being a member and Public Relation Officer for another Veterans Non-Profit in the area. They love the People, Mission and Purpose of Roll Call and decided to jump in and do whatever they can to help where they can.
