Mary Staffeld, Roll Call of North Texas Board Member

President

Mary Staffeld

Senior Master Sergeant (Ret.) Mary E. Staffeld is originally from Chicago, Illinois. After graduating high school in 1978, she joined the United States Air Force and completed basic training in San Antonio, Texas in 1978. Upon completion of basic training she served at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Illinois as an Administrative Specialist and Unit Training Manager. In 1984, she left the Chanute and was transferred to the U.S. Air Force Academy as the Unit Training Manager for the hospital.

After nearly eight years, she decided to leave the military in 1986. She spent the next twenty years in the restaurant business running anywhere from one to eight restaurants for two different casual dining chains. She attempted a time or two shortly after leaving Active Duty to join the USAF Reserve only to be told she couldn’t due to having children. This was at a time when the military was downsizing in the mid to late eighties. Finally, in 2005, she tried one more time to join the USAF Reserve and within a couple of weeks, she found herself taking the oath of enlistment once again. She became a member of the 301st Fighter Wing at the Naval Air Station, Fort Worth, Joint Reserve Base (formerly Carswell AFB) in 2005 where she continues to serve. In late 2006 she left the restaurant business and became an Air Reserve Technician in the Wing Education and Training Office where she worked fulltime as a civilian federal employee and in her military capacity until leaving that job in late 2012. She then became a traditional reservist in the 301st Civil Engineering Squadron as the Unit Training Manager until she was selected to become a First Sergeant. Her first assignment as a First Sergeant was at the 301st Logistics Readiness Squadron. She moved to the 301st Security Forces Squadron in 2016 and deployed to Kuwait with the Defenders. In 2018 she deployed to Qatar where she served as the Senior Enlisted Leader/First Sergeant for CENTCOM Forward Headquarters. Upon her return from that deployment she was moved to the 301st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron where she continues to serve.

Mary has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science with an Education Concentration, an Associate’s of Science Degree in Training Management from the Community College of the Air Force, an Associate’s Degree in Human Resources from the Community College of the Air Force, and a Professional Manager Certification. She worked for two different civilian companies between 2012 and 2015 as a Training Manager. In late 2015, she and her husband decided it was time to quit working fulltime.

Mary joined Roll Call in 2017 as the Secretary. She became the Vice President in early 2019. She currently considers herself “semi-retired” but will officially retire from the USAF in June 2020. She works orders frequently on base taking care of Group and Squadron business. She also facilitates the USAF Reserve NCO Leadership Development Course at least once a month at bases all throughout the US. When she’s not working for the Air Force, she’s busy with working out, spending time with her husband of 27 years or her five grandchildren, or doing volunteer work for Roll Call.

Kim Hingen

Kim was born and raised in the Fort Worth area where she graduated from Springtown High School. She helped run her family’s dairy goat farm and was extremely active in FFA showing goats at organized events like the Ft. Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. Planning on a career serving the US as a Nurse life took a change for the better when she became an expectant mother. At that time she naturally changed course and decided her primary focus was on her family. She launched a successful home daycare and fulfilled her most important role as a stay at home mom for 9 years.

Once her 3 children were all in full time school, she decided to go back to school to become a Registered Dental Hygienist and graduated college with an Associates degree in 2002. Dental Hygiene is not only a career for her, but she has a passion to provide her patients with the best care possible at Haslet Family Dentistry for many years.

Kim was married to Jeff in October 2016 and they have 5 kids between them. She is also Mimi to the cutest granddaughter that has stolen their hearts and keeps them extremely busy. Kim has a unique talent for creating craftwork and a love for keeping her gardens in beautiful condition. Kim and Jeff enjoy traveling to new and old places, mostly by cruise ship. She also enjoys riding on their Harley accompanied by great friends to visit new places and see unusual things the Great State of Texas and surrounding states have to offer.

She found Roll Call in 2018 at a veterans event and was immediately impressed by the people and values of the organization. Coming to the luncheons while taking in the atmosphere and amazing stories of the veterans surrounding her she knew it was something special. At that time she was part of another veterans non-profit organization and helped raise funds to donate to Roll Call and many other well deserved Ft. Worth veterans groups. Also during that time she was an integral part, along with her fellow members and friends, to support the Ft. Worth Veterans Stand Down for Homeless Vets. As part of a committee, she helped provide sleeping bags, jackets and toiletries to countless veterans during this annual event. Following her desire to help many more veterans she decided there was absolutely no better place she could think of than where she already was, Roll Call of North Texas.
