Daniel graduated from Philipsburg -Osceola Area High School, NJ in June of 1981 and enlisted in the United States Air Force in November of that year. He did not proceed to Basic Training until May of the following year, at Lackland Air Force Base, TX. After Basic, Daniel attended Inventory Management technical school at Lowry Air Force Base in Colorado, graduating in September of 1982.
Dan’s first duty station was Ellsworth Air Force Base outside of Rapid City, SD where he served with the 44th Civil Engineering Squadron as a Logistics clerk. He deployed with the 44th to Biggs Army Airfield outside of El Paso, TX in 1984. Dan’s next assignment as a Logistic troop took him to Nellis AFB in Nevada where he served in a top-secret location for three years.
In 1986 Dan moved from Nellis, NV to McGuire AFB, NJ – home of the 438 Military Airlift Wing. From there, Dan deployed to North Carolina in support of the invasion of Panama, and to Desert Shield Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia where his unit was the first Air Force unit on the ground. He served as the Commander of the Supply Squadron deployed for the Military Air Command at that location for a period of six months, earning four medals and citations for his service.
Dan then volunteered to serve as an Air Force recruiter in Chilicothe, Ohio, which was the first capital of Ohio, later moved to Columbus. He put 93 civilians into boots during his tenure there, a fact of which he is most proud. Dan’s next assignment in 1996 took him to Holloman AFB in New Mexico where he served in a variety of positions, culminating as NCO In Charge of the 49th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Aircraft Parts Store and Warehouse. This is also where Dan’s greatest achievement, meeting his wife of 20 years, Penny, and where they had two of their three daughters.
Dan’s final assignment was back to McGuire AFB, NJ, where he served as an Air Force instructor at the NCO academy, training young Non-Commissioned Offices leadership and management skills. Dan retired from Active Duty in May of 2006, serving a total of 24 years in our nation’s Air Force. The Dudas moved back to New Mexico, where Dan held a variety of positions, including Coca Cola, and the US Army as a contractor. Dan was hired for his current position at Lockheed Martin in February of 2013. He and his family moved to Fort Worth in July of 2014.
Dan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Colorado Technical University and a Master’s Degree in Communication Studies from New Mexico State University.
