We have launched a Befriend-a-Veteran program and are partnering with the U.S. Army Reserve Center in Fort Worth, 90th Aviation Support Battalion HSC, the 355th Fighter Squadron at the Naval Air Station/Joint Reserve Base (NAS/JRB), and the Chief Petty Officers Association at the NAS/JRB in providing active duty and reserve military personnel to conduct home visits with our veterans. We also have civilian volunteers that participate in this program, and could always use more!

In addition to providing comradery among generations of veterans in a more personal setting, we also act as a referral source to address any unmet needs of the veterans such as helping the veteran get connected with the Department of Aging and Disability Services, the VA, or other non-profits serving veterans.

In May 2017 soldiers from the 90th ASB helped one of our WWII veterans move out of his old apartment into a new place, bought him some essentials, including groceries. Roll Call worked with a local non-profit to help this veteran obtain a nicer bed since he has medical problems. We are the only non-profit in the area that is hosting a monthly Veterans Appreciation Luncheon in addition to providing home visitation and resource referrals for our veterans.
